Name: Sportsman's Golden Paradise, CGC Origin of Name: Since Sport was born so far away, we had to figure out how to make him as much of a Louisiana dog as possible. With Louisiana's nickname being "Sportsman's Paradise" & Sport having sporting in his blood, we found "Sportsman's Golden Paradise" a perfect fit! He comes from a hunting kennel & has a fine mixture of hunting champions & show dog champions in his bloodline. Everybody knows that Goldens love people, but Sport is one of the most affectionate Goldens I have ever met. He loves to be by our side no matter where we are!! If on the computer, he's right here (even as I type), at my feet. If on the couch watching TV - he's at the foot of the couch. If eating at the table - under the table. If cooking at the stove - sitting at my feet. If sleeping in bed - also in his own bed next to ours. Extra Info - Grace is CGC certified!!! This is a picture of Grace and me ready to do her obedience exercise routine to earn her CGC (Canine Good Citizen) Award. As you can see, this is a clipping from the newspaper. The evaluator told us she passed with flying colors. Weighing in the 60's, Grace is a very calm, obedient Golden who lounges around the house or yard all day. But when you ask her if she wants to go for a ride, she breaks loose. She LOVES to go...whether it's car, truck, or bike rides. The only thing that would make her happier is if the ride is to the pond, where she can swim & retrieve her heart out!!! |

THE Gold-Rush Charlie is his great-great grandfather!! Taner has the perfectly classic Golden personality. He is loyal to the end & devoted to making us happy...whatever it takes! He loves to swim & is ready for a boat ride in the 1st picture above!! Health Clearances Hips - OFA certified - "no evidence of hip dysplasia" Eyes - Taner wasn't able to get his CERF clearance due to cataracts found. Thankfully, the opthamologist informed us that his cataracts will never cause any blindness, and that Taner doesn't even know that he has them! Taner will be retiring after this year. We've never had ANY problems with ANY of his pups!! I'm just making such a big deal about this here on this page because I believe that pet owners should have ALL the information available to them.
