Origin of Name Joy was an easy name to pick! It went very well with her sister Peace's
name but also describes our work with Goldens - Joy! Our Goldens and their puppies
bring so much joy to our lives & the lives of others. I can, without hesitation, say that
having Goldens & raising puppies is something that we enJOY!

Joy really took to her name - she is very joyful!! Her mother is our Grace
and her littermate sister is Peace (pictured above). The 2 best things she got from Grace is her enthusiasm for retrieving & her beautiful stocky build! Her father is Champion Birdland's Put'n on the Ritz, another sweet & beautiful Golden.
Overall, she's a very enthusiastic Golden, but it's amazing how calm & gentle she
is around her sidekick (our little boy)!
Also, she puts EVERYTHING in her mouth & carries it around. She doesn't
chew it; she just loves to carry things around with her. Including her leash -
she walks herself! You name it; if she can fit it in her mouth, it's hers! Crazy girl!

Fancy is an absolute beauty! Her mother is a stocky golden, & her father Mac is an International Champion English cream (white). We are enjoying Fancy; it is a pleasure to raise her! She is a calm & submissive Golden!
Fancy is also obsessed with socks! She'll even pick them out of a pile of clothes in the laundry basket!
She's also a food thief! She's the one who snitches food off the kitchen counter: a sheet of biscuits, a bowl of oatmeal, some carrots....this little piglet doesn't care.
Grace comes from a very LONG line of champion titled Goldens (CH, CD, FC, AFC, UD, TD, SDHF, NBDHF, along with many OS & OD all in her 5 generation pedigree) and certified health clearance Goldens (OFA, CERF, SAS, OFEL).
This is a picture of Grace and me ready to do her obedience exercise routine to earn her CGC (Canine Good Citizen) Award. As you can see, this is a clipping from the newspaper. The evaluator told us she passed with flying colors.
Weighing in the 60's, Grace is a very calm, obedient Golden who lounges around the house or yard all day. But when you ask her if she wants to go for a ride, she breaks loose. She LOVES to go...whether it's car, truck, or bike rides. The only thing that would make her happier is if the ride is to the pond, where she can swim & retrieve her heart out!!!
Origin of Name: Since Sport was born so far away, we had to
figure out how to make him as much of a Louisiana dog as
possible. With Louisiana's nickname being "Sportsman's
Paradise" & Sport having sporting in his blood, we found
"Sportsman's Golden Paradise" a perfect fit!

Sport was our main man & produced many, wonderful puppies! He comes from a hunting kennel & has a fine mixture of hunting champions & show dog champions in his bloodline.
Everybody knows that Goldens love people, but Sport is one of the most affectionate Goldens I have ever met. He loves to be by our side no matter where we are!! If on the computer, he's right here (even as I type), at my feet. If on the couch watching TV - he's at the foot of the couch. If eating at the table - under the table. If cooking at the stove - sitting at my feet. If sleeping in bed - also in his own bed next to ours. And many more, but I think you get the point :)
Sometimes I have to put him outside just to get some time to myself!! ....HA!
Sport is also CGC (Canine Good Citizen) certified!
Sport is now buried with Grace in their favorite place - behind the pond. I thought it would get easier with time, but I still can't find the words to describe how much we enjoyed him & how much we now miss him.
The only thing we would've changed is that they still be with us!
Origin of Name I must preface this by saying we are very thankful & give praise
to God for all the ways He has immensely blessed our lives. Though there have
been times in our lives when things have happened that don't make any logical
sense. It's in these times when God has given us His perfect Peace - knowing that
God is the one in control of our lives & has our best interest in mind, whether we
like the circumstances or not! We gave Peace her name to remind us of those
times & to encourage us to have faith to trust God always!

Peace is the daughter of Grace. We had Grace flown to Ohio to be bred with Champion Birdland's Put'n on the Ritz (both pictured below). It was well worth the effort as they produced some gorgeous & amazing puppies!
Peace reminds me so much of Grace in every way - looks, personality, attitude, quirks. I'm so thankful for them all!
Peace also "talks"; she inherited this from Grace too. Especially when she gets really excited, she'll let out this cute little growl/howl as she bounces up and down right in front of us. We know she's telling us "something"!
She also lifts gate latches with her nose! If you forget to put on the lock, she'll free herself in a matter of seconds. Smart girl!
As if she hasn't already proven herself as a wonderful mother, she went
above & beyond when she nursed & raised an orphaned litter of 12 puppies for us.
My hero! What a huge helper!

pleasure of picking his name. We tried all variations:

Researching his pedigree, we liked the fact that his 1/2 American,
1/2 European bloodline would add a nice variety to our puppies.
I'd also seen his pictures & knew that he was quite the handsome guy.
But meeting him in person is what sealed the deal!
His health history & bloodline are amazing,
but his personality is even more amazing!
He is a very gentle, easy-going Golden!! He has blended in flawlessly
with both our human & doggie family.
